My dream come true!

Before we got married married, I lived in a little duplex just down the street from a popular little shopping plaza, tucked into the neighborhood. Starbucks, cute little restaurants, and a post office tucked into a card shop were all at my beck and call. I loved to hop on my bike and run over there to do errands.

Unfortunately our house now is in a less urban area, although still in the middle of town. There’s just not as much to ride the bike to. I love the image above because it’s totally inspiring to me – riding my bike looking all turned out in a full skirt and cute shoes. As a student in Paris, I loved seeing the Parisian women riding their bikes everywhere, looking perfectly coiffed and all Audrey Hepburn. (I never managed to look that pristine in Paris – I was usually the hot & sweaty American art student, lugging my art supplies and portfolio on the metro. June is hot in Paris)

it’s mary ruffle (via {wit + delight}).

Cynthia Rowley for Roxy? Huh?

Over at OhJoy this week, she showed off some cute sandals by Cynthia Rowley for Roxy. Wait, huh? I did a doubletake. For Roxy? The surfwear company? Hmm. I hopped over to check it out. And while I was not bowled over by any of the clothes or swimwear, I definitely adore the accessories. Check them out here, as well as the rest of the collection.

I completely adore these fringed “Sea Urchin” sandals above. It doesn’t get much more fun than that.

Cameron’s Style

Sorry it’s been light on posting here as of late. We’re getting back into the swing of things here at home, and picking back up with work. So things are a little light here on the blog.  But… spring is coming! It’ll be here before we know it!

After watching the Oscars, I was thinking how fabulous Cameron Diaz looked. So girly, so pretty in that shiny Oscar de la Renta (never a bad choice). While Cameron definitely has a flair for the more unusual, these are some of my recent faves of hers. She’s perpetually girlish.

After seeing this last photo, it seals my decision to start belting absolutely everything this spring. I am loving the look. Anthropologie has had some fun belts for little $$$. I know, shocking. I’m more likely to pick one of these belts – not quite so bright as Ms Diaz’s little red cincher:

Weft & Warp Belt

Over-Under Belt

Leaps & Bounds Belt

Buckled Cummerbund

Three-Beat Belt

And the always delightful Caning Double Belt. Such a pretty color – and it comes in white and blue too.

The Young Victoria

I know I am so late to the game on this one, but I finally got to see The Young Victoria while recuperating at the hotel in Minnesota. Ohhh man. I REALLY wish I had seen this one on the big screen, because I absolutely adored it. I really didn’t want it to end. A beautiful movie, but a beautiful little love story too.

Maybe I want to be a hippie

I wonder this to myself sometimes because it’s like I gravitate towards these bright prints. Every time we go to Malibu, people are dressed like this, and I get this happy feeling. Of course, they’re wearing it with Uggs.

Somewhere deep down, I’m a bohemian, I guess. I have such design ADD.

Golden Globes Faves

Does it seem a little early to anyone else for the Golden Globes? Somehow it seems to have shown up earlier in the year than I remember. But nonetheless, I love it for the clothes, hair, and makeup trends.

I adore Ginnifer Goodwin’s hair. It suits her perfectly. I might have to work up the nerve to cut mine a little shorter.

This dress didn’t photograph all that well, but when Julia Roberts was onstage to present, she looked so chic. A little bit bohemian, the jewelry was just right.

Fun color. And the dress looks so frothy and lightweight.

Totally chic in her Carolina Herrera number, Amy Adams proves that moms-to-be need not reach for a muu muu.

Love the makeup, love the hair. Didn’t like the dress, but I still wish Lea Michele would’ve won for Glee anyway.

Those emeralds are TO DIE FOR.
